The colourful work in this new series references the extensive system of levadas (aqueducts) bordering the mountains of Madeira where I grew up. Walking along the levadas, at times through mountains, is the most amazing experience as you are completely immersed in nature for hours on end. Working on the pieces for this collection really brings back the feeling of being happily lost in a 'sea of green'. Nostalgia at its best.
